Three driving pads
individually adjustable (depth, height & orientation), waterproof, replaceable and help to position the head
The central pad at the back of the head
Two lateral pads with several mounting options on the side of the head, clearing ears and glasses
Multiple force sensors in all pads for proportional driving (speed depends upon the exerted force). Configurable threshold for switched driving.
Safe & reliable to use outdoors and in humid environments
Programmable via the on-board configurator
(no need for an external computer or additional software)
Programmable minimum and maximum force per pad
Parameters such as initial speed, veering, angle compensation and overload force detection
Programmable functions under gestures, buttons or sip-and-puff
Swing-away mounting hardware
Durable and robust, with a configurable memory location
Can be mounted on the existing head support mounting brackets of power wheelchairs
More information
Some interesting parameters to enhance the performance and safety of the device:
Initial speed
Starting speed when the head is detected is possible due to very sensitive force sensors. This way, you can mimic capacitive sensors with a start speed.
Veering
Steering corrections are based on force location on the pad. Wide or even tight arcs are possible with the central pad alone.
Angle compensation
To use with tilt or recline. The system filters out the additional weight of the head in tilted positions so you can rest and drive in every wheelchair position.
Gestures
Control the wheelchair functions with as few satellites as possible.
Overload force detection
When the user has a solid reflex movement of the head and has difficulty releasing the pads or accidentally activates the pads, the system can enter into a warning state.
